Thoughts from a Student

Hi everyone,

We wanted you to hear from one of our students, Gabbi M., her thoughts about our experience so far:
"First and foremost, God is good. These past few days have been emotional, as we feel for the hearts of the Guatemalan people. Being in host families gave us a new perspective for how deeply this situation affected these people and this nation. My heart is heavy for the children, family, friends, and more who were directly impacted.

However, God uses everything, and for this I am incredible thankful. I am thankful for his protection, thankful that he is comforting the hearts of the Guatemalan people, and thankful that God used this to build up our team when it could have easily torn us down.

Before the trip, our team prayed for God to strengthen our connection as a team. He used this to answer that. During discussions we talked about how we were feeling and we comforted and confided in one another. Our team is closer and stronger than any one of us could have imagined.

We also prayed for God to allow us to sympathize with the hearts and minds of the Guatemalan people. He answered this as well. We can all say we have a new understanding and love for these people, and we are grieving alongside them.

We are earnestly looking for ways to help, please pray that God reveals this to us. More importantly, please pray for this beautiful nation and these amazing people. One thing is certain - God is here, and he is moving mightily.

Miss you all!

De: Gabbi <3"
