The Halfway Point
Well, friends and family, we are right about the halfway point of our journey!
On Saturday, we went up to a nearby village and held our first VBS. The kids did awesome! About 40 local children showed up, and our Esther team presented their drama. Between singing songs, dancing, crafts, snacks, and laughing at Mary in a banana suit, it was a smashing success.
On Sunday, we woke up bright and early, said goodbye to our host families, and loaded up in vans for Lago Atitlan. We have officially left Antigua behind.

Some of the girls say goodbye to their host family.
This weekend is all about resting and recuperating. It's been a long two weeks in language school, and we wanted the team to have some time in a beautiful place before we head off for two more weeks of ministry in Zacapa.
One special aspect of the trip is that we get to bring a group of pastors and their families along with us. These people minister throughout the year with very little respite, and it is such a treat to get to know them and to let them have some time to rejuvenate.

Cody with Pastor German's wife, Gisela, and their daughter, Zoe.

Each hotel room has a view overlooking the lake....which means we can all talk to each other from the patios!
We've been here for about a day and a half now, and we are feeling well-fed, healthy, and rested. We even got to go on a boat ride across the lake today!
We leave tomorrow for Zacapa...keep us in your prayers.
