Go Diggers!!
Go Diggers!
Hola amigos y amigas y familias, it's Bayli and Taylor. Today was a chill day and we all had a ton of spirit and energy which made a day this late in the trip super fun! Coach Shultz woke us up at 6:45am and by 7:00am we were gathered around the pool singing,"I've got a river of life flowing out of me" and throwing in a couple of yeehaws and yahoos along the way! That lead us into a quiet time on Luke 5:1-32 where each of us pondered who we are similar to in the story and how it can fit into our lives by us being called by God to be hungry for His word and for Him to show up in our lives. Breakfast was stellar, as always, and the pancakes KILLED it - they are so good!
At site 1, we made more new concrete and smoothed over the foundation. It doesn't sound like a lot of work, but trust me, it definitely was. Towards the end of the day, the owners of the house, Clever and Argentina, came over to check out their new future home. They were so excited that Clever jumped in to help smooth out the floor! It was really neat to actually meet the people who will receive the house and it made it much more personal. As usual, there was so much fun and laughter amidst the hard work which made for an awesome day at site 1!

Site 1 is killing it!

Site 2 was a lot of work similar to that of the first day of construction. We finished the smoothing of the concrete, and after that, we were tasked with adding depth to the septic hole. Keep in mind this hole took us a whole day (and a ton of blisters) to complete earlier this week; however, everyone did it without complaint and kept up our energy by singing songs and cracking jokes. After that feat was accomplished our site had about an hour of really deep talks out of nowhere. I personally talked to Ben, Keisan, Jordan, Reid and Coach Mike Wright about fears, soulmates and relationships and how to incorporate our free will and choice to love others into life. I later had a conversation with Caitlynn while making sandwiches for everyone and we went even deeper which is so cool. I love being able to share with and trust our team! After that, we dug this trench for the septic that was 40 centimeters deep on one end tapering into 100 centimeters deep. We knocked it out in like two hours, Reid, Lis and Jordan killed it with the shoveling. I was astounded and so very grateful for our team today and the unending willingness to not only dig but connect to each other while doing so.
Devotion time at site 2

Tonight, the evening pick up soccer was with only the boys, which was super lame (just kidding). The girls enjoyed cheering on the boys and the ticos. Kenzie W, the designated game day girl, led so many cheers for them and it was awesome to see some of the tico's faces, in particular, one of them named Renae, light up when we were singing and cheering for them!

Later, while we were at dinner at an Italian place, Bayli, Kenzie E, Street Ball Will and I pranked a few of our friends (Darian and Jordan) and put balsamic vinegar in a Coca-Cola bottle and made them drink it, thinking it was soda. Darian immediately spit it back into the bottle and Jordan had to think about it of a while before spitting it out. It made for some fun memories for us and provided joking and laughter within the team. We thoroughly enjoyed the company of Street Ball Will as he told us all about his freshman peers and how Sadie's went for him - that boy is hilarious.
Pura Vida to the whole team for their amazing work ethic, nonstop jokes and crazy talent and to our leaders for the same - we are so blessed!
We miss you and love you all,
Bayli (aka Subway, since I make bomb sandwiches) and Taylor (aka Tiff, because apparently she looks like a Tiffany?)
