Before the Trek...

By Jake McDonald
Two days ago we took an eight hour bus ride into the Himalayas. Even though eight hours is a long time on a bus it just flew by! We headed from the city into the mountains, and instantly we were greeted by sheer cliffs and tall mountains. The ride was insane because the road could barely fit one car let alone two. At one part, when the road was dirt, the trucks in front us became stuck together right next to the cliff and it was crazy. But the views were beautiful and we got to see a 24,000 ft tall mountain with snow capped peaks. We finally got to our guest house and it is right off a river. It is so beautiful and the views are awesome. The guys went to the river and saw the hot springs where people go to wash. It was interesting to see how they live. We also got to play soccer with some of the village boys. It was an awesome day.

A note from Jay...

Everyone was healthy, energetic and ready to start our hike. The hike was a five hour one, straight up the mountain. Please continue to pray for physical and spiritual strength as we head into the villages.
