Day One in PC
Hi guys!! This is Sarah. Today we woke up in the Managua hotel (which was very nice) and then had a good breakfast of rice and beans. After that we got on the flight to PC and the excitement was very high! We were welcomed by heat and smiling Pastor Earl. He was so excited to see everyone and to have us here. After a quick bus ride we got the orphanage and seeing the kids was amazing. We had lots of play time and then we all went over to church. Church was great and we sang some awesome worship!
Being a returner it felt like I had never left. I was scared that the kids would not remember me but I was amazed when they all ran up to me and acted like I had never left. There have been lots of smiles today and I can’t wait for more. I am so happy to be “home” and each moment of this trip has been amazing so far! (P.S. Fam… Laisha is here!!! She remembered me!!!)
Hello! This is Bree. Today flew by, it was so tiring but also very fun and exciting. We left the Managua hotel and flew to PC on two 12 seater planes which was a very cool experience but also a little bit scary. We took a very bumpy and hot bus to the orphanage. Everybody got settled with rooms and got a feel for the place. After that we all rushed over to see the kiddos. As a returner I was scared that the kids I built relationships wouldn’t remember me, but as soon they saw me they their faces lit up and they didn’t lose sight of me for a solid 2 hours.
We got dinner and quick got ready for church. Church is very different here, everyone is singing and praising God in different languages. We walked back and had some down time to shower, chat, or journal. Then we closed up the day with debriefs talking about the emotions we felt and things we saw today. It was a pretty good day, I can’t wait for what the next week holds!!
