Surf's Up!

Today we got to sleep in an extra hour, so we held our devotions at 8:00am this morning. Our devotion focused on Ephesians 4 and 5, which talked about casting off our old self and living in light and love. Then we ate breakfast. After breakfast, we organized bags to send to soccer teams around Costa Rica. After that, we enjoyed an hour on the beach. After lunch, we headed to Tamarindo to go surfing and souvenir shopping. On our way to the beach, we stopped by Casa Vida Church. We dropped off the bags we packed to Dani and unpacked new tiles for the children’s ministry. In other words, the girls stayed in the van, listened to music, and watched while the boys did these tasks. Surfing was a blast, even though everyone wiped out several times. Shultz tried to race the surf instructor to the beach on a body surf and lost. Souvenir shopping was a lot of fun as well. Evenings in Tamarindo are so beautiful! After shopping, we enjoyed a delicious dinner at a taco restaurant. Our coaches treated us with ice cream after dinner. On the way home, we stopped by a local restaurant to watch the Costa Rica vs. Guatemala soccer game on TV. Sadly, to the disappointment of all the fans, they lost. We debriefed with many laughs and hit the haystack.
