A Time to Remember
Today was our last full day in beautiful Costa Rica. To begin the day, we read and reflected on Psalm 100, then headed to breakfast. After some delicious pancakes and gallo pinto, we were off to church. At Casa Vida church we enjoyed some meaningful Spanish worship songs, followed by a teaching on the parables of Jesus, yet I think the only word anybody understood was Dios. At the end of the service, Pastor Alex called up Mayra, and she shared her story with the church. My favorite part was seeing her smile light up the entire church; everyone in the church could tell her gratitude was everlasting. Many people we met throughout the week attended church, so we got to say a few last goodbyes to some amazing friends, such as Rene, Josh, Dani, and Oscar. To continue our day, we took a pit stop in Tamarindo for some trinket shopping, and Josh tagged along. We took a drive to Lola’s, which is a beautiful restaurant on the beach, where we enjoyed some refreshing smoothies and delicious nachos and ceviche. We played in the ocean, watched the beautiful sunset, and took many pictures to commemorate the end of our trip. After the sunset, we gathered around the bonfire, and had our last debrief together, reflecting on the trip. We talked about our favorite memories from the trip, our changes, and our praises to the Lord. After we left the beautiful Lola’s, we headed back to our hotel for one last dinner. After that we spent some time together; whether it was the boys screaming like little girls at a baby spider, or jumping in the pool for a late night swim, it was a great way to end the trip. We are all eternally grateful for all your thoughts and prayers. This has been a once in a lifetime opportunity, and a truly impactful trip for us. Pura Vida, and we can’t wait to see you all!
