Beginning to Know...

Hello Denver families!

It's 11pm - aka lights out for the Denver team. We arrived safely to the church where we met our ministry partner at 4pm and spent some time sharing about our lives and getting to know each other better.

After that we were introduced to our ministry partner and hosts for the week. The hosts will be joining us as we volunteer with multiple ministries throughout the week. They gave us a rundown on our week and then took us out to a local Vietnamese restaurant for dinner. The students enjoyed dinner and the car ride was filled with laughter.

From there we went on a prayer tour around the city where we learned about homelessness, poverty, gentrification and the organizations and laws in our city that are doing their best to help those in need.
At one point we were asked to sit in the middle of an empty parking lot as a situation that may lead to homelessness was described. We listened and were asked to lay down as though this was where we were sleeping tonight. Needless to say the students eyes were opened to the needs and feelings of the homeless population.

We are excited to get back into the city tomorrow and to learn more about the people who live in the city that we call home.

We're grateful for your prayers and will tell you all about our day tomorrow!
