Wind, Work and Fun

Hi parents, family and friends,

I first want to apologize for the lack of blog posting this week. The WiFi that we have available to us here is very week and does not work if the wind is blowing, so it is naturally very difficult to upload pictures or even short stories to the Internet. Our only option for consistent WiFi would be to drive 45 minutes to Gallup.

We have had a wonderful time here in Fort Defiance both in our ministry, and as a team. We have been blessed with great team chemistry, and it is in no small part because of the strong character of the kids we have on this trip.

Since our last post, we have done several work projects at the mission, attended a softball game for our newfound friends at the St. Michael's School, served a barbecue to some of the more underprivileged families of Fort Defiance and played many card games.

The people we are working with at the mission have said numerous times that they are very impressed with the work ethic and focus that our students have. We finished all the work they had for the whole week in one day, so they had to find more things for us to do.

The wind has been blowing relentlessly for the past two days(up to 75 mph), but that has not deterred any of our team members from giving it their all. The attitude and effort has been truly inspirational. You all should be so proud of your kids; they are amazing! I have been personally blessed by each of them, and I am so proud to be a leader on this team.

We will be leaving Fort Defiance tomorrow morning to head back to snowy Denver. See you all soon.
