VBS - Day 1

Note: Apologies! I missed a step in the posting process, so sorry these posts were delayed.

Today was a really long, productive, fun day! Our group had a very fun morning with the kids - laughing, smiling, and sweating! The kids were overjoyed to attend their first day of camp for the week! They were there before us!:) The kids were excited to reunite with the returning students and meet the newcomers! The VBS that we had been planning worked out so awesomely and ran super smoothly! We all enjoyed teaching the story of Zaccheus. Today the students' favorite activities were music and snacks. After a lovely day with the kids we were able to work on many service projects to help Ruby Ranch (where we run the camp) and Henry (our Nicaraguan ranch hand, considered a super human), whose new house we painted. Everyone worked extremely hard, which paid off because we were able to get a ton done. After all that hard work, we had a delicious Nicaraguan dinner and debrief time at the ranch. To end the second night well, we had a student leaders night, that included s'mores, laughter, and kissing frogs.

As a returner, I did not know what to expect when going on the same trip with a different group. This group has worked perfectly together, without any drama. I know the rest of the trip will go smoothly! We have already many laughs and fun inside jokes. As usual, this trip has already been stirring the hearts of many of my fellow teammates. I am so excited for what God has in store for the rest of our trip!
