A Quick Update
Family and Friends,
We're leaving in a few minutes for an all-day trip to a mountain village, so expect a longer update with pictures tomorrow.
Yesterday was another great day for us. We went back to El Canal and helped a local pastor, Pastor Balthazar, build a house for him and his family. It was tough work - we were working on the foundation so our students were hauling stone blocks, rocks, and sand, mixing concrete, and digging trenches. It felt great to work so hard towards such a great goal.
After lunch, about 60-70 children from El Canal gathered in Pastor Balthazar's church and we spent several hours leading them in our first VBS. The puppet team got the kids dancing and worshipping and the skit team got the kids laughing! Lexie gave a lesson about Jesus meeting Zaccheus and how Jesus' great love changes our hearts. Elaina led the kids in a craft, and Katie helped them have fun with some great games. Many of our students shone in relational ministry with these children. We go back to serve them on Wednesday, and we couldn't be more excited!
We'll post a few photos of the experience tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers!
