Matthew 5:16
Hola from the Dominican! Despite the long day of travel, the energy felt by the team is very apparent! They are ready to get started serving with eager and open hearts! After a little bit of exploring the DR and the Score complex, we had dinner and a quick debrief session. The girls shared that they were amazed and inspired to see the warmth and happiness from the peoples of the DR, despite having a lot less than most American’s are blessed with. We are all exhausted and headed to bed early, to rise for a fantastic day of service and volleyball tomorrow!
11 hours later and we made it :) We are all so excited to finally be here and serve all our glory to God. The process of getting where we are today is truly so amazing. Thank you to everyone who supported us to be able to go on this trip! Today we arrived in the Dominican with a bunch of friendly people greeting us into their country. The humidity has definitely set in but we are ready to take on the heat and the adventures to come this week. – Reagan
We are finally here! We started our time in the Dominican with getting a tour of the Score Complex where we are staying. All the people here are super nice and inviting and have made us all feel so welcome here in the Dominican. After getting some food and a much needed nap we took a trip to a local café and got some yummy brownies and smoothies. Later we went to the beach and took some great pictures. We are all so excited to see what the rest of the trip will bring. – Katherine
Today I was responsible for giving the team devotion. Going along with our theme of doing hard things I emphasized that God can’t start his plan for us until we’ve stopped trying to figure it all out for ourselves. It’s so easy to get caught up in what others will think of us that we try and share the glory with God. We take credit for all the good things that happen to us that we lose sight of God. In Isaiah 42:8 it says, “I am the Lord; that is my name, I will not yield my glory to another. When things get tough we have to remember that there are going to be plenty of hardships in our life, but what if the hardest thing is also the most glorifying to Gods and that’s if you just stop. Let God take over because he can’t start until you let him. I am so excited to see the impact this trip will have on each of us and am so grateful. I can’t wait to play with the children and see their faces when we go to help them. -Macieeeee Murphyyyyy
